Three years after the Violent Unknown Event, Anteo Fallaspy was in Holland with his camera. He met the music and language teacher Sashio Tempesta in Amsterdam were they were both attending a linguistics conference. They travelled together through Holland and married on the border at Valkenswaard.

The Directory states that Sashio had webbed underarms, a bone-marrow deficiency, a permanently scratched face, and that she is a dreamer, Category One, Water, Flight. She is also a sufferer of après-radiance, a radiant, flushed condition experienced after exertion and stress.

Sashio was converted to the use of Hartileas B by her husband and she had certain minor alterations made to her mouth cavities to better accommodate the shrill characteristics of that language. She accepted an invitation to train with the pelagic birds that nested on Bardsey Island off the Lleyn Peninsula.

In good weather the boat trip between Bardsey and the mainland lasts about twenty minutes. The small boat, heavily laden with reference books, surgical instruments, a cello, a portable harmonium, a tea chest of cosmetics and some valuable recording equipment, sank.

It still shone with après-radiance, so excessive, apparently, had been her physical determination not to die.
